Chevrolet
Chevrolet is a brand of cars and
trucks based in the United States belonging to the General Motors group. It was
born from the alliance of Louis Chevrolet and William Crapo Durant on November
3, 1911, in the United States, manufacturing robust automobiles.
Currently, Chevrolet increased
its participation in the global market from the implementation of the new
concept of global design called GPix or Global Pix, with which it began to
present its first vehicles called "global", which began to be sold in
Asia, Europe and America together with the United States. The first vehicle
presented with this feature was the Chevrolet Aveo, presented in the Chinese
market. Later, new presentations began to take place, featuring the Chevrolet
Cruze, Chevrolet Impala and Chevrolet Captiva models, who shared design
features with the Aveo. This policy, in addition to renewing the face of
Chevrolet in the world, reaffirmed its position in different markets, where the
brand used models of other brands owned by General Motors to sell them under
the Chevrolet brand. Another project generated by this new design current is
the so-called "Living Project", developed in the Mercosur and from
which the Chevrolet Agile, Chevrolet Montana and the new generation of
Chevrolet Cobalt models were conceived, presented on June 16, 2011 in the
Buenos Aires Motor Show.
Our company offers the Chevrolet
compliance certificate for this vehicle through our website.
At the sport level, Chevrolet had
participation in international categories, as well as in local categories of
different countries. Worldwide, it was three times world champion of teams in
the World Touring Car Championship, at the same time having reaped four
drivers' titles with the Chevrolet Cruze I model, while, although it never
obtained absolute victories in the popular endurance competition , known as the
24 Hours of Le Mans, did win in the GTS classes (2001, 2002 and 2004), GT1
(2005, 2006 and 2009) and GTE (2011 and 2015), all with the Chevrolet Corvette
model. At the same time, in the United States, he exercises a wide domain in
the statistics of the NASCAR series, counting 30 titles in the NASCAR Cup
Series (NASCAR First Division) and having among his main referents Dale
Earnhardt Sr., one of the two top champions of the category with 7 titles, all
of them conquered at the command of Chevrolet units. At the same time,
currently, Chevrolet is next to Honda, one of the two exclusive engine
suppliers for the IndyCar Series, while in the popular Dakar Rally category
several drivers participating in the cars division choose drivers of the
Chevrolet brand to Equip your units, commonly called buggies. A standard in
this category that knew how to compete using these engines was Robby Gordon,
recognized for his participation with Hummer vehicles powered by Chevrolet
engines.
On the other hand, the mechanics
of the Chevrolet models are used by different craft manufacturers for the
development of supercars. For this, the V8 drivers of the North American firm
(mainly those of the last generations of the Chevrolet Corvette model) are
taken into account for the production of craft prototypes such as the Hennessey
Venom GT, the SSC Ultimate Aero or the Tauro Sport Auto, between others.
The Chevrolet Certificate of
Compliance is available to all Chevrolets built in the European Union.
Chevrolet was founded on November
3, 1911 on the initiative of the Swiss-French racing driver Louis Chevrolet, in
collaboration with the French engineer Ettienne Planche and later with the
businessman William C. Durant, who was in charge of financing the project. The
company was born as the Chevrolet Motor Car Company and its foundation was the
most effective strategy put forward by Durant to resume the leadership of
General Motors, from which he was expelled in 1910 after his first major
financial crisis. After the taking of the control of the General Motors on the
part of the financial organisms, William C. Durant (that did not have the most
minimum knowledge of mechanics, much less was interested in putting it into
practice) in his eagerness of wanting to recover his business lost and seeing a
great future in the sale of automobiles, decided to invest part of his fortune
in the creation of a new brand of cars, with which to recover what was once
his.
William Durant would finally have
a similar ending, when in 1920 he again put GM back on the verge of bankruptcy,
which again earned him the expulsion of the company, but this time
definitively. He no longer counted on his large family fortune, which had been
squandered in the creation of these companies and trying to acquire new
signatures to be able to reinstall in the market. His stock market maneuvers no
longer had an effect, so he would end up in ruins, dying in 1947 and suffering
the same end as his ex-partner Louis Chevrolet, whose financial misfortune was
one of the main responsible.

Chevrolet always remained as the
flagship of General Motors. Even after the year 2000, the brand remained at the
forefront of the international market, losing in 2009, after the bankruptcy
suffered by GM. Even so, the brand remained firm within the organic scheme of
the company, being the most profitable within the conglomerate. Worldwide,
Chevrolet had a strong presence in markets such as North America, South America
and began its expansion within Asia and Africa. In some markets such as South
America used models used by other brands of General Motors to be sold under the
Chevrolet brand, in the case of South America, Chevrolet vehicles were based on
the German Opel line. As of 2005 Chevrolet is developing a globalization
campaign with the transformation of the Korean subsidiary GM-Daewoo into
Chevrolet Europe, basing its range first on models of Daewoo origin. Later, it
began to market global vehicles, such as the Chevrolet Aveo, the Chevrolet Cruze
or the Chevrolet Captiva, adding Chevrolet Malibú to the US, in its version
presented in 2011.
Throughout its history, Chevrolet
manufactured models that were successful around the world, such as the
Chevrolet Corvette and the Chevrolet Camaro. The Chevrolet Impala, Chevrolet
Malibú and Chevrolet Monte Carlo models are also remembered. In other countries
such as Argentina or Brazil, Chevrolet Chevy and Chevrolet Opala models were
produced respectively. The first was a derivative of the American Chevrolet
Nova, but despite being a success in the market it would only last 9 years in
production, product of the retirement of GM from Argentina in 1978. While the
second, it was the most successful car in the Brazilian industry, reaching one
million units produced, in its 28 years of existence.
Currently, Chevrolet is using its
experience with the VOLT Chevrolet Volt (presented as an extended range
electric vehicle as it is a hybrid with electric motor and combustion line) to
launch the BOLT, this already fully electric and autonomy provided above of 300
km. At the beginning of December 2013, the company announced a reorganization
by which it would leave (as it did) the European market no later than
12/31/2015 after two years of notice to the dealers that marks the European
law.
