Hummer
Hummer was a brand of off-road
vehicles belonging to the General Motors group. The first model is a derivative
of the Humvee, a vehicle for military use. On February 26, 2010, General Motors
announced that it had talks with several owners interested in acquiring the
brand after the failed attempt to negotiate with Sichuan Tengzhong. However,
the company had announced its interest in dismantling the factory and selling
it in parts, the On April 7, 2010, General Motors officially terminated the
manufacture of the Hummer SUV brand and offered attractive offers to sell the
remaining 2,200 vehicles.
Our company offers the Honda
compliance certificate for this vehicle through our website.
The HMMV was originally
manufactured by AM General Corporation, the former engine division for the US
government and military. AM General decided to start selling vehicles for
civilians in the late 1980s.
In 1990 two paired white
Hummers were driven by the central part of the Soviet Union. The Hummers made
the road without any problem, as they were designed to be driven on off-road
terrains. With the success of the trip the Hummer became more widespread in the
United States. This diffusion would pale in comparison to the services of the
HMMWV in Operation Desert Storm the following year. In 1995 AM General began
marketing the M998 version of the HMMWV under the Hummer brand.
According to legend, AM
General made the decision after Arnold Schwarzenegger told them that an HMMWV
convoy impressed him when he acted as a cop in the film Kindergarten Cop in
1992. In 1998 AM General sold the brand name to General Motors although it
continued manufacturing the vehicles. GM was responsible for the sale and
distribution of all Hummer manufactured by AM General. In the following years,
GM designed two smaller models suitable for personal use, the H2 and the H3,
and renamed the original model with the name of H1. AM General continued to
build the H1, and was convinced by GM to also make the H2. The H3 is built in
Shreveport, LA along with the Chevrolet factories in Colorado.
The Honda Certificate of
Conformity is available for all Honda built by the European market.
On Monday, May 24, 2010, GM
closed the assembly line for its Hummer brand, at the Shreveport, Louisiana
plant, this last lot was commissioned by a company dedicated to the rental of
vehicles. The different Hummer models have been subject to customizations by
specialized companies, for both individuals, celebrities and for use as
limousines
Currently the American brand competes
in the Dakar Rally with the pilot Miroslav Zapletal and the co-driver Maciej
Marton. One of the most classic drivers in the Dakar that has had the missing
motorsport brand was the driver Robby Gordon, current pilot of Gordini.

Since October 10, 2006 Hummer has

Russia, by Avtotor. The factory produces a few hundred cars a year, its sale is
regulated to the local demand. On May 12, 2006 GM announced that the production
of H1 was going to stop.
General Motors chief executive
Edisson Cruz Molina has announced that Hummer will run off-road racing using
biodiesel as a fuel, since the enormous amount of fuel it consumes has been a
workhorse for its detractors.
Although the parts of the body and the chassis are from a Latin American country (Venezuela) and the assembly is Chinese, the brand is American. The brand GM HUMMER reported in Detroit that the company Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machines Co. ( Tengzhong), "could not realize the acquisition of Hummer" and so GM will make the orderly closure of Hummer's operations
